Although Oren's story is not unique to him, it is still quite remarkable. He left his day job as managing director of an international financial services company to pursue an uncertain career as a musician. When faced with a decision to do what he got paid a great sum of money to do or what he got a great deal of love doing, he chose his passion. Of course this was not the first time he was asked to choose between his passion and the standard ideal of the day.

 

In high school, he was a member of the school band playing flute but at the same time he was madly in love with the sport of volleyball which he played every free moment he had while at school. His band director thought that this conflicted with time in band and told Oren that he had to choose. Most band students were at the top of their graduating classes over the years so other students would have folded and stayed in band due to the prestige. However, without hesitation Oren pushed back his chair, reached for his flute case, calmly took his flute apart, packed it away and walked out of the band room. Upon leaving the doorway, he unbuttoned his school shirt and as it fluttered in the wind like superman’s iconic red cape he headed straight for the court with a huge smile on his face and a heaviness removed from his soul. He ended up receiving two volleyball scholarships after graduating from high school so volleyball paid for his college education. Ironically, it was in college where his true love for music really started to bud so it all came full circle.

In the beginning after crossing the bridge as a full time musician, the struggle was real. Living on only a few hundred dollars a month with recurring expenses that tripled that made him question his decision or more accurately, how he did it. But as the months turned into years, the legend of Oren grew to the point where he is now sought after by the most high-end resorts/establishments to perform his brand of an eclectic mix. He is now an ordinary person living an extraordinary life having now entertained some of the world's rich & famous people and performing worldwide. He who follows the path to his passion stops chasing his dream and lives it and Oren is a living testament to that.
